General Information

Dr. Skane

Dr. Skane is a native of Baltimore and has spent his entire life in the mid-Atlantic area.  While growing up in Catonsville he learned the basic values of hard-work, honesty, and the importance of caring for others.  Values which serve him well when trying to address the needs of his patients.

After attending the University of Maryland College Park, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Biology, Dr. Skane was fortunate to attend the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery.  While at BCDS (the first dental school in the world!) Dr. Skane developed a passion for handling dental emergencies and relieving the associated pain that comes from a toothache.  He then decided to further his education and after graduating Magna Cum Laude, enrolled in the Endodontic residency program at the University of Maryland.  After the challenging 2 year program Dr. Skane decided to put his hard-earned skills to work for the people of his home-town of Baltimore.

Dr. Skane is an assistant clinical professor at the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery where he teaches both the undergraduate dental students and post-graduate Endodontic residents how to perform state-of-the-art endodontic treatment. Dr. Skane was also recently recognized by his peers as 1 of only 2 endodontists in the entire city of Baltimore in the 2010 Baltimore Magazine "Best of" issue!

Dr. Skane is also an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Association of Endodontists, the Maryland State Dental Association, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor dental fraternity.  Dr. Skane has presented research papers at national meetings and is a frequent attendee at national and international continuing education seminars.  Dr. Skane believes that continual learning is an integral part of optimal patient care.
